With more than 100 years of tradtion as a spa town, Bad Orb has become one of the most important health resorts in the Main-Kinzig area. The spa tradition is based on the brine of Bad Orb which surfaces on three different locations: the Martinus spring, the Ludwigs spring and the Philipps spring. The Martinus spring is used for potable water and is still accessible today.
The historic graduation house located in the spa park is more than 200 years old and serves as an impressive reminder of the heyday of salt harvesting. While walking up and down the 155 meters (169 yd) of the building you breathe the saline air and enjoy a climate similar to the seaside.
